🚀 Orange Quantum Systems Raises €12M Seed Round to Accelerate Quantum Moore’s Law
Cottonwood Technology Fund is proud to announce our participation in the €12 million seed round of our portfolio company Orange Quantum Systems (OrangeQS), the Dutch startup setting new standards in quantum chip testing. The round, led by Icecat Capital with participation from Qbeat Ventures, QDNL Participations, InnovationQuarter, and Cottonwood Technology Fund, is the largest seed investment to date in the Dutch quantum sector.
As quantum computing matures, a critical challenge is emerging: scalable, accurate, and cost-effective testing of increasingly complex quantum chips. OrangeQS addresses this with industrial-grade test systems that drastically reduce time and cost — opening the path to a Quantum Moore’s Law.
Its flagship solution, OrangeQS MAX, is already being used by Europe’s top quantum chip developer IQM in Finland, while institutions like KIT, Berkeley Lab, and QuTech leverage OrangeQS’s customizable and open-source platforms for advanced R&D.
This new capital allows OrangeQS to develop next-generation testing systems, helping global chipmakers double reliable qubit counts every few years — a pivotal step toward large-scale quantum computing.
At Cottonwood, we’re excited to back OrangeQS again, having first invested at the pre-seed stage of OrangeQS. We strongly believe they’re positioned to become the go-to partner for quantum chip testing worldwide.
